State Offices of Unclaimed Funds

This is a directory which shows the appropriate agencies to contact in order to obtain information on unclaimed funds and/or abandoned property in each state. The following are general rules and tips when inquiring about unclaimed funds:

1. If there are more than two requests, most states require requests to be in writing.
2. If the state has internet access, use that database first as a tool for searching requests. Then proceed with the other methods available if necessary.
3. When contacting agencies regarding unclaimed funds, try to include all known addresses of the person and his/her social security number.
